KINGDOM GRANT
On Earth as in Heaven…
When we look at the New Testament and the words and postures of Jesus, we seem him prioritizing those things that have to do with the Kingdom of God-his way of living in the world that is birthed through the rule and reign of Christ. The Kingdom of God is about what Jesus desires for the world in the here and now.
In hopes of playing a part in making Jesus’ prayer in Matthew 6 come to fruition and in line with our mission statement we are excited to announce the public launch of the Carlos Fields “On Earth as in Heaven” Fund. It is an extension of the work of Church Partners of the Smokies and exists as a dedicated pool of grant funding accessible to churches and organizations that support local churches in the following areas:
- Leadership Development
- Residencies/Internships
- Learning Cohorts
- Coaching/Consulting
- Evaluation/Assessment
- Learning Retreats/Seminars/Events
- Reproducing/Transitioning Churches
In early 2025, we will open this new opportunity for applications.
The money used to give each grant is money that has been generously given to Church Partners of the Smokies outside normal monthly support from area churches. Over the past few years, three churches have closed their doors for various reasons, and in doing so, have given the monies from their assets to Church Partners of the Smokies to use in Kingdom of God endeavors. The money given each year through this grant comes only from these specific gifts.
“May your kingdom come.
May your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.”
Matthew 6.10, NRSVUE
Grant Information
Each year, January through May we will accept grant applications. Interested churches and organizations can find granting parameters and information, including a grant application here.
Awarded grants will be announced and dispersed each year on July 1st.
